This is content for the new HNOVO pages on the Union of UEA Students website that is due to launch ion January 2010. It is a very exciting project and we are looking forward to see it launch and look beautiful.

The events section is now working a treat and the images on the homepage are controlled by the database and look awesome!!! A Union of UEa students admin user will replace this text before the site launches

Who are they?

They're a group of students elected by the student population in a campus-wide vote each year.

What do they do?

They work for you on all issues to do with student life. They listen to how you want things to be done and work with the relevant people to make it happen. They represent your views to the University and local and national decision makers ensuring that your voice is heard.

Meg Evans

Academic Officer

“Hi I’m Meg and I’m the Academic Officer for this year. It is my responsibility to ensure that the educational needs of all students at UEA are being represented. This means that I’m the officer leading the Union on improving your studying experience during your time at university. I’ll ensure that all students have access to proper resources and work to increase course representation. I’m an enthusiastic, friendly officer and I’d love to hear your ideas about how you’d like the Union to work for you.”

Matthew Myles

Communications Officer

“It’s my job as Comms Officer to make sure you have all the information you need, and that we have all the information you want us to have. Keep an eye out on Facebook and Twitter for our weekly ‘Rabbit!’ update for news on campaigns, some useful tips or just exciting things happening at your Union. Most importantly, I want your feedback! So tell us what you think through Facebook, Twitter, comment cards, priority polls, referenda, Union Council, ueastudent.com, email or come visit me in the Office in Union House!”

“I’ll be in charge of what the Union does in terms of housing, transport, sexual and mental health, equality and diversity, widening participation, and building better and stronger links between us and our community. I’ll work hard to make sure every student feels safe and included in their time at university.”

Rob Bloomer

Finance Officer

“I’m responsible for overseeing the Union’s finances and your clubs and societies at UEA. I’ll be looking to build on the work I’ve done in the last year to develop Student Activities even further, introducing focus societies and building on our fantastic year of the Union Volunteers program! I’ll also be working to help the Union’s Management team to develop the Union into an organisation that’s fit for purpose, to deliver what students deserve!
