Your Opinion Matters - 2010 National Student Survey Launched

You should receive an email towards the start of the week inviting you to complete an online questionnaire at www.thestudentsurvey.com

You’ll be asked to judge the performance of your course in the following areas: teaching quality; assessment and feedback; academic support; organisation and management; learning resources; personal development; and overall satisfaction. Completing the questionnaire should take no longer than five minutes but the feedback you give the University does make a real difference.

In the last few years comments written and views expressed in the National Student Survey have brought about real change to the way the University delivers its education. After analysing the results with student officers the University has:

Introduced anonymous coursework marking

Developed new timetabling software, integrated into the Portal, for launch in September 2010.

Introduced e-books in the Library for some core texts, making sure everyone can access books at the same time.

Improved the quality and quantity of information available to students.

Investigated an end to exams on Saturdays

Introduced a twenty-day turnaround target for the return of coursework feedback.

Extended Library opening hours
