LGBT History Month 2010

February is LGBT History Month, a celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans peoples’ contribution to history and culture and how far we've come in the fight for liberty and equality. For information on this year’s event click here.

Donation not Discrimination

At a time when blood donations across the UK are falling the National Blood Service maintains that men who have sex with men are 'high risk' for HIV, regardless of their individual sexual behaviour. Other countries like France, Russia and South Africa have determined that not all gay and bisexual men are at a higher risk of infection and no longer discriminate on the basis of sexuality.

We’re campaigning to remove this unfounded discrimination and lift the ban in the UK.  More information on this campaign will be available soon.

UEA Pride

UEAPride is the Union’s peer support group for anyone dealing with sexuality or gender identity issues of any kind. UEAPride organises a calendar of social events for LGBT students and has a network of welfare officers to support UEA students through sexuality and gender issues.
